Kavalan Movie Review, Vijay's Kaavalan Movie Review And Rating

kavalan, vijay's kavalan movie review, asin's kavalan movie review, vijay's kavalan movie analysis, vijay's kavalan movie ratings, vijay's kavalan movie stills, vijay's kavalan movie story, kaavalan movie review
Movie: Kaavalan
Director: Siddique
Cast: Vijay, Asin, Rajkiran, Roja, Vadivelu

Kaavalan would be an unforgettable experience in Vijay’s career, not for its cinematic achievements but for the hurdles he had to face for its release. Yet another remake, released for Pongal, Kaavalan is Siddique’s Malayalam movie Bodyguard tweaked for the Tamil audience. It follows the stencil Siddique uses for all his comedies and sticks loyal to the Malaylam version largely.

Although the movie has little scope for Vijay’s gallantry usually displayed in all his movies, he presents a subdued performance digressing from his one-hero-fights-all attitude. He also emerges fairly successful in the role that has its moments despite its reminiscence of Siddique’s previous movies, including the super hit Friends.

Bhoominathan (Vijay) is a rebellious youngster who is sent by his family to the businessman Muthuramalingam’s (Rajkiran) house for employment. After the initial misunderstanding, in which he gets to meet Asin and gets smitten by, he is assigned the job of a bodyguard to Asin when she goes to college. And then, as you would have rightfully guessed, love blossoms. (We could never make sense out of such done-to-death plot structures, but then you can always call it creative liberty.) But Asin does not reveal her love directly; instead she uses a different number to converse with Vijay. This makes Vijay think that he is totally in love with someone else.

re hiding in this din. But then there is Vadivelu, who unsuccessfully tries his loud histrionics to your eyes and ears to create the Friends effect. Vijay, as said before, is very restrained. Yes there are fight sequences to probably pacify his fans but those are not too many. He tries his best and brings in an honest performance; either during his confusion in love or during the other emotional scenes. It’s a sin that Asin stayed away for long from Tamil movies. She is in her freshest form, shedding even more kilos, and looking like a Liril ad girl in full clothes.

Technically, the movie has nothing much to offer although whatever is on show scores average marks. Vidyasagar’s music is insipid and neither the songs, nor the background music help the movie.

What gets the movie its brownie points is the climax. It’s not earth-shaking different or unpredictable but only what one would expect out of a Siddique product. Yet, it manages to warm the viewer’s hearts and it’s not surprising to see people walk out of the movie halls wiping their eyes.

Kaavalan is not a roll-on-the-floor comedy but it has its moments. It has its trademark Siddique brand humor, which is not indistinguishable from his other movies that we are so used to in the recent past..

Siruthai Movie Review and Rating

siruthai movie review, siruthai movie, siruthai movie ratings, siruthai movie story, siruthai movie analysis, karthik siruthai movie review, tamanna movie review
Movie Name: Siruthai
Cast: Karthi, Tamannah, Santhanam, Baby Rakshana, Rajiv Kanakala and Supreet
Director: Shiva
Producer: K. E. Gnanavel Raja
Music: Vidyasagar
Banner: Studio Green
Rating: 3/5
Siruthai Story
Rocket Raja (Karthi) is a smalltime pick pocket but he is good at heart. He along with Kaatu Poochi (Santhanam) both of them makes their daily bread and butter by cheating people in a petty way. Rocket Raja falls for the charm of Tamannah. But life brings in a bad twist in the form of a small girl who calls him dad. Rocket Raja gets shocked with the sudden twist. To his surprise, he gets voluntary support from police officer (Rajiv) played by Rajeev Kanakala. Rajiv always comes in the rescue of Rocket Raja from that point of time. One fine day Rocket Raja will be attacked by a bunch of goons. He turns utterly clueless. Here comes the sudden appearance of honest IPS officer Ratnavel Pandian (Karthi). Who is this Ratnavel Pandian? Why are the goons after Rocket Raja? Who is the real father of the small girl? Watch it on big screen for the plot.
Performances:
Karthi: Siruthai stands as best film of Karthi at his early stages of career. He performed outstandingly in both the roles of Rocket Raja and Ratnavel Pandian. Ratnavel Pandian brings a new style in this role, while Rocket Raja is funny and entertains the masses ultimately and is highlight of the film.
Tamanna: Tamanna looked very attractive in this film. She did really well in mass romantic scenes with Karthi. Especially in the climax scene her performance is good. Her act in this film looked very much developed compared to her earlier films. In teh whole movie she is seen in typical traditional outfits like gaghras and half sarees.
Others: The small girl Baby Rakshana performed superbly. Supreet excels in the role of the main villain. His costumes, makeup and his voice made him look like giant. Rajiv Kanakala’s performance is up to the mark and his dialogue delivery is perfect. Santhanam’s comedy tracks are superb and have brought the house down. Manobala’s typical role of villain’s sidekick is good.
Technical Departments:
Story – screenplay – Direction: The story of the film carries an impact of Amitha Baachan Don (impersonation and kid sentiment). Direction by Shiva is excellent and decent. Coming to the screenplay is okay and in the second half is very much predictable.
The following scenes are very well conceived in the film –
1. The best scene of the film is where Ratnavel Pandian delivers a powerful dialogue of ‘fear’.
2. The sentiment of the small girl. Rocket Raja’s mannerism. The fight between Rocket Raja and the aunties is quite massy and brought hilarious laughs.
3. The comedy scenes between Karthi and Santhanam are hilarious.
4. The interval episode.
5. Rocket Raja’s entry as Ratnavel Pandian in villain’s house.
Analysis:
The first half is entertaining with the comedy of Karthi and Santhanam. The second half moves into extreme action plot. The positives of the film are comedy by Rocket Raja character and the serious action by Ratnavel Pandian. Songs are okay, apt dialogues and nice background music. The minus points are too much of mass scenes and climax could have been much better.

Aadukalam Movie Review and Rating

aadukalam movie review, aadukalam, dhanush aadukalam movie review, aadukalam movie ratings, aadukalam movie story, aadukalam movie analysis

Movie Name:  Aadukalam
Cast:  Dhanush, Tapsee Pannu, Kishore, Karunas, Daniel Balaji
Director:  Vetrimaran
Producer:  Kathiresan
Music:  GV Prakash Kumar
Rating : 3.25 / 5

Intro:
Kollywood celebrates Pongal with big films releasing today. Dhanush is back with Aadukalam after his last release Uthamaputhiran. He has become the festive hero in Kollywood. Aadukalam is releasing big today and the film has already received positive review by Rajinikanth. Director Vetrimaran has brought in all the commercial aspects and the film is going to be a great treat for Pongal.
Aadukalam Story:
The film starts on the back drop of Madurai with cock fights. Karuppu (Dhanush) owns a rooster and attends a cock fight with his team named Vettakaran with the Ratna Swamy team. Karuppu (Dhanush) comes across Irene (Tapsee) on a sudden incident and falls in love with her. His team head doesn’t want Karuppu (Dhanush) to participate in the fight but Karuppu (Dhanush) without listening to his words takes part in the fight and wins Rs 3lakhs. By having grudge on Karuppu (Dhanush), the team head starts giving trouble to him by arising clashes with his friends and also misuses the amount of Rs 3lakhs, where the hero plans to start a business. One fine day Karuppu (Dhanush) comes to know that his team head is the main reason for all the happenings. What did Dhanush do? How he fights with his team head? Will he marry Tapsee finally? Need to be watched on silver screen.
Performances:
Dhanush performance is outstanding in the role of Karuppu. His mass appeal is sure going to appeal the mass audience.
Tapsee’s made her mark with her debut and sure going to see heights in Kollywood. She looked apt for the role of an Anglo Indian.
Kishore, Karunas and G. M. Kumar are good at their respective roles.
Director Vetrimaran narration and packaging style are unique. Characterization needs special mention as they don’t oppose themselves during the course of the movie. The film is like poles apart when compared with the first film.
Music given by G.V Prakash is outstanding in the film. To tell frankly the back ground score saved the film a lot.
Cinematography by Velraj is well done, as it brought life to the surroundings.
Analysis:
On the whole, First half of the film is outstanding and the second half moves on a slow note but impressive. Aadukalam is a good entertainer for this Pongal. The film will surely hit the mind of the audiences and will stand as a hit in 2011. Especially for Dhanush’s fans the film will be like a plate full of Pongal.
